In the same world

The cost of silence, the price of belonging

On a tense night in Los Angeles, two brothers find themselves trapped between love and ideology.

When Carlos tries to stop his undocumented brother from joining a new self-deportation program, buried secrets of privilege and belonging resurface—forcing them to face a question neither wants to answer: how far would you go to do the right thing?

International Human Rights Art Festival

IHRAF is a global art-activist organization representing over 2,000 artists from more than 115 countries. While proudly rooted in NYC, it continues to celebrate its origins by producing its annual festival every December—centered around International Human Rights Day on December 10—alongside a growing lineup of performances and events throughout the year.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Play

A tense night in a Los Angeles garage between two brothers divided by fear, loyalty, and the weight of an impossible choice.

A short play about family, privilege, and the moral cost of silence.

In the Same World examines the human consequences of immigration policy, revealing how nations—and families—can fracture when empathy is replaced by complacency. The play challenges audiences to consider what it truly means to act when action matters most.

In the Same World took the stage as part of the International Human Rights Art Festival at The Tank NYC in December 2025.
